    A vibrant district filled with bustling markets, authentic Chinese cuisine, and cultural landmarks. Yaowarat is the main road that runs through Chinatown and is a food lover's paradise, offering a wide variety of street food and traditional Chinese dishes. No doubt it is an experience that should not be missed.

    MRT Station: Lumphini

    Specializes in serving delicious and crispy fried chicken. The restaurant has been around for over 50 years and is known for its secret recipe that uses a blend of herbs and spices to give the chicken its unique and flavorful taste. Great for a quick lunch with friends and best place for fried chicken - Thai style.

    Wattana Panich

    BTS Station: Ekkamai

    Well known for its flavorful beef noodle soup. The rich and savory broth was made half a century ago and has been slow-cooking since ever since! The restaurant has been serving customers for over 50 years. Perfect for Beef noodle soup lovers and a great lunch spot with friends or colleagues if you are in the area.

    Sabaijai

    BTS Station: Ekkamai

    Serves a wide range of Isaan dishes, from soups and curries to stir-fries and noodles. Some of my favorites include Som-Tam (spicy papaya salad), tom yum soup, and green curry with chicken. The ambiance is cozy, with traditional Thai decor and comfortable seating. Perfect spot for a relaxed dinner with friends or family.

    Saengchai Phochana

    BTS Station: Phrom Pong

    Specializes in Thai-Chinese cuisine and known for its generous portions. Menu features a wide selection of thai dishes, including seafood and meat-based options. Some of my favorites include sweet and sour pork, spicy basil stir-fry with minced pork, and crispy deep-fried sea bass. Perfect for those new to Thai food.

    Jay Fai ⭐

    MRT Station: Sam Yot

    Jay Fai is a world-renowned 1 michelin star street food restaurant, famous for its "drunken noodles" and crab omelet. A-list hollywood stars such as "John Legend" & "Russell Crowe" are known to have dined there. Jay Fai was also featured on Netflix's "Street Food" Series. Reservations need to be done months ahead due to high demand.

    Laab Ubon

    BTS Station: Surasak

    Great place for authenic Northeastern Thai cuisine (Isaan cuisine). Popular dishes include "laab" (spicy minced meat salad), grilled pork neck, som-tam, and spicy minced pork with herbs. A casual atmosphere that is perfect for a relaxed dining experience. One of the most visited among expats and highly recommended.

    Baan Nual

    MRT Station: Sam Yot

    Family-style restaurant that specializes in traditional Thai home-cooked dishes. With only 2 large wooden tables, the menu features a range of dishes made with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Demand is high and reservations and food orders are required in advance. Excellent choice for authentic dinners with friends or family.

    HAAWM

    BTS Station: On Nut

    Private dining venue hosted by chef Dylan Eitharong (well known Thai-American chef). Seats are booked months in advance, so be sure to book in advance. Diners share dishes in a table of 6 and if the whole table is not booked, you will dine with others - a fun way to enjoy your meal, and meet fellow foodies. Ideal for large groups.

    BTS Station: Chong Nonsi

    A modern and trendy Thai restaurant and bar offering a unique blend of Thai and Western cuisine. Some specialities include Phad Sam Mhen, Salted Mackrel Pasta and Red Curry with Smoked Duck Breast. Charm also offers a great selection of craft cocktails, making it a popular spot for a night out with friends.

    Lon Lon Local Diner

    BTS Station: Chong Nonsi

    A cozy Thai restaurant that is popular among locals. It offers a range of authentic Thai dishes and signature dishes include Tamarind Shrimp, Pickle Cabbage Basil Omelet and Bird Eye's stir fry prawn meat. Perfect for a slow lunch or a leisurely dinner, as well as for those seeking for truly authentic Thai cuisine.

    MRT Station: Sanam Chai

    A sleek and stylish Thai fusion restaurant along the Chao Phraya river and just across Wat Arun (The Temple of Dawn). A little pricer than the others but authentic food and great venue to the view of the river and eat before a night out. A real treat! Ideal venue for dinner dates or a meal with friends and family.

    Liaoning Chinese Cuisine

    BTS Station: Chong Nonsi

    One of the oldest Chinese restaurants in the city, and perfect for anyone seeking an authentic Northeast Chinese dining experience from the Liaoning province. Signature dishes include stir-fried lamb with cumin, sautéed diced chicken with chili and peanuts, and braised eggplant with garlic sauce. Perfect for lunch with friends or family.

    Mensho Tokyo

    BTS Station: Phrom Pong

    Firsrt founded in Tokyo, Mensho Tokyo is a favorite among locals and tourists for its authentic Japanese ramen. Specialities include a variety of ramen dishes, with tender slices of chashu pork, bamboo shoots, and green onions. All chefs are trained in Japan and the ramen noodles are cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of chewiness and texture.

    Contemporary Japanese restaurant known for its innovative sushi creations and incorporation of modern twists on traditional Japanese sushi. For me, the best sushi place in town. A must-visit for sushi lovers and anyone seeking high-quality Japanese sushi in Bangkok. Perfect for a meal with a group of friends or your family.

    Korean Plaza (Sukhumvit Plaza)

    BTS Station: Nana

    A popular location for Korean food lovers and a hub for Korean culture in the city, with a range of korean restaurants, shops and grocery stores catering to the Korean community and beyond. Also hosts regular events and festivals such as the Korean Food Festival and Korean Pop Culture Festival. Recommended for those who love Korean food.

    Haoma ⭐

    BTS Station: Asoke / MRT Station: Sukhumvit

    A true farm-to-table Indian-Thai fusion dining using organic produce grown in the restaurant's rooftop garden and hydroponic farm. Led by 1 michelin star Chef Deepanker Khosla, some of the restaurant's specialties include the "Garden of Babylon", and the "Jackfruit Tacos". Recommended for fancy dinners with friends or your loved one.

    Authentic teppanyaki dining experience. Predominantly serves fresh seafood and high-grade meats, all cooked in front of diners on a teppan grill. Signature dishes include Wagyu beef, lobster, and sushi. A cozy and intimate atmosphere. Perfect place to enjoy food and drinks on a night out. Alternative venue if closed: Daimasu.

    BTS Station: Saint Louis

    A social and lively restaurant & bar with great food, live music, creative cocktails, and events. Menu offers contemporary European dishes, from small sharing plates, to outstanding main courses and desserts. Specialties include "Chicken Milanese," "Foie Gras Terrine" and "Portobello Mushroom". Also known for its inventive cocktail and wine menu. Very popular location among European expats.

    Popular Italian restaurant chain, with multiple locations throughout the city. Features a variety of classic Italian dishes, including wood-fired and homemade pizzas and fresh salads. Some specialties include the "Burrata Pizza," and the "Cacio e Pepe". All have modern and cozy decor, combined with attentive service, making it a great spot for a casual dinner with friends or a romantic date night.

    BTS Station: Asoke

    A grocery shop and restaurant (with multiple branches), offering a taste of Spain and France. Mostly known for its extensive selection of Spanish and French food products, including cheeses, cured meats, and wine. Perfect place to dine for those craving cold cuts, cheese, wines and Western food in general. Extremely popular among expats, and perfect for all occasions.

    BTS Station: Ekkamai

    A Spanish eatery and wine bar located in Ekkamai. Offers down-to-earth approach to the Spanish eating culture, similar to Japanese "Izakayas". Serves some of the best Spanish plates and snacks, with a wide selection of wines, beer, and cocktails. Great wine list with afforable prices. One of my favorite places to enjoy Spanish food and drinks with a group of friends or with family.

    BTS Station: Asoke

    Restaurant serving authentic Mediterranean and fusion cuisine with a contemporary twist. Showcases a wide range of dishes from Spain, Italy, Greece, and the Middle East. Specialities include Paella, Italian Ratatouille, Greek Moussaka, and Baklava. Warm lighting, rustic décor, cozy and intimate. Perfect dinner venue with friends, family or a partner. Also features live music performances.

    Cantina Wine Bar and Italian Kitchen

    BTS Station: Ari

    Inspired by wine cellars in Italy, Cantina offers an excellent range of homemade pasta, pizza, and many more. Specialties include "cheese-loaded mascarpone e tartufo pizza" & "homemade pasta with mushroom-truffle sauce". Wine selection mainly consists of Italian wine and pairing usually done by a certified sommelier (and co-owner) for your dish. Perfect for romantic dinners or a night out with friends.

    Ojo (Spanish for "eye")

    BTS Station: Chong Nonsi

    Mexican restaurant on the 76th floor of the King Power Mahanakhon tower, making it the highest restaurant in Thailand, and offers 360-degree views of Bangkok. Led by one of Mexico's top chefs, Ojo showcases interesting Mexican flavors, beyond just tacos and burritos. Some specialities are ceviche, grilled octopus, grilled Pescado Zarandeado and bone-in ribeye Carne Asada. Highly recommended for special occasions or fancy romantic dates.

    The Smokin' Pug

    BTS Station: Ratchadamri

    Specializes in Southern US-style barbecue, which is a rare case to find in Thailand. Known for its smoked meats, including brisket, ribs, and pulled pork, along with sides like mac and cheese, collard greens, and cornbread. The restaurant uses a traditional wood-fired smoker to slow-cook their meats, giving them a smoky and tender flavor that is hard to resist. Perfect for meat lovers, and great for dinner with friends or family.

    The Missing Burro

    BTS Station: Thong Lor

    The Missing Burro was founded by two Mexican brothers (Itzco and Tlahui Calva), who cook up time-tested recipes inspired by the traditional Yucatan cuisine they were raised on back home. Their main speciality is enchiladas, but other popular dishes include "Barbacoa" and "Shrimp Tacos". The restaurant is tucked away in a small garden, making it peaceful, relaxing, and is very popular among locals and expats. A perfect place for a casual dinner.

    La Monita Taqueria

    BTS Station: Phloen Chit

    One of the first Mexican restaurants in Bangkok and still a favorite for many. Reasonably priced and boasts a wide range of tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. The owner, Billy Bautista, has added a hint of California to the dishes, which can be seen in the wide variety of fillings and salsas. La Monita is the perfect place to have a casual meal with friends and has developed into a franchise with 2 locations in the city.

    Sabor Brasil

    BTS Station: Asoke

    A casual Brazilian restaurant serving authentic and traditional Brazilian dishes such as feijoada, picanha, and moqueca. One of their specialty is churrasco (Brazilian-style barbecue that features many meats cooked on skewers over an open flame.) Vegetarian and vegan friendly. Probably the most authentic Brazilian food I have had in Thailand and is a must for anyone who loves Brazilian food.

    El Gaucho

    BTS Station: Asoke, Nana, Thong Lor & Chit Lom

    A chain of Argentinean steakhouses. Started in Vietnam but has since expanded to Thailand, bringing Argentina's traditional asados (barbecues). The steaks are premium-quality, and cooked to perfection using traditional Argentinean methods. Also offers an extensive wine list, array of appetizers, salads, and desserts. Dining at El Gaucho is crucial for steak lovers.

    Authentic Ethiopian restaurant serving traditional dishes such as Doro Wat, Injera, and Kitfo, all prepared with a perfect blend of spices and fresh ingredients. Extremely underrated and overlooked by many expats in my opinion. Great for lunch or dinner and a must-visit venue for food enthusiasts.

    BTS Station: Sala Daeng / MRT Station: Silom

    One of my favorite Lebanese restaurants in Bangkok. Its menu offers a variety of delicious mezze platters, grilled meats, and fresh seafood dishes. A must-visit restaurant for anyone who loves Lebanese food and perfect for a casual meal with friends. For vegans and vegetarians: Hummus Heads is a better choice.

    Mama Dolores

    MRT Station: Khlong Toei

    A cozy Mediterranean restaurant located in Yen Akat. Named after the owner's mother, who inspired her love of Mediterranean cuisine. A hidden gem that serves up some of the best Mediterranean food in Bangkok and is perfect for group dinners with friends and family. Highly recommended.

    A chain of Lebanese and Greek restaurants, with 2 locations in the city. Founded by a Lebanese family in 1999, with the intention of sharing Lebanese food to the locals. A great choice for those living or located in the Sukhumvit area. Offers a good range of Greek dishes as well.

    BTS Station: Thong Lor

    Specializes in Middle Eastern cuisine with a focus on hummus. Known for its hummus dishes, including classic hummus with pita bread, hummus bowls, and hummus wraps. Uses fresh and high-quality ingredients, including organic chickpeas and locally-sourced vegetables. Vegan and vegetarian friendly.

    A popular and newer Lebanese restaurant established in 2015, with some Indian dishes as well. Another great choice for those craving Lebanese food and quite popular on food delivery apps. The interior is modern and prices are higher than others. Perfect for dinners with friends or family.

Cozy and laid-back, creating a comfortable and relaxed ambiance for a nice brunch with friends or family.

They also have a good variety of vegetarian and gluten-free options. Best to go in the morninhg or before lunch time as the venue is small and gets busy.

    With 2 branches in the city, Bartels is a fantastic place for breakfast or brunch. bread, sandwitches and fresh juices are their speciality, with some of the best grilled sanwitches in town. Great place to catch up with friends on any day of the week and it is also a perfect venue for remote workers to work and grab a bite.
